I hired an assistant a short time ago and yesterday we sat down over Skype to talk about her duties and responsibilities. I couldn’t understand anything she said over Skype. After some quick research online I found out that her ISP cable company is rumored to deprioritize clients Skype packets which means that they make Skype unworkable for voice over IP (VOIP). She is having to switch ISPs in order to work with us. Don’t put up with ISP doing this illegal throttling. Report them, complain and move your business.

Then one the same day I had a fellow Internet marketer Joanie Chappel call me about Skype and conference calls. It came out that Skype is not causing the problem but a caller with a bad connection causing background noise. When Skype isn’t working correctly it sounds like awful electronic music, not buzzing. I recommended Rent A Bridge, which Bill Hibbler recommended on LinkedIn.
