I spoke at Product Camp here in Austin on Saturday.  If you follow me on Twitter (@EagleChris) you saw that I streamed video during some of it. Wifi was very busy with 400+ people tweeting and blogging so at times it didn’t work for me.

I gave a presentation of Twitter For Small Business.  The biggest question was why small businesses should even use twitter. Many feel it’s a big waste of time.

I spend about 30 minutes a day on Twitter.  I use it as a one front end to my marketing funnel.  I don’t make any money directly with Twitter and I don’t know anybody that does. It’s a front end to get people to know you. They then get on a call or webinar you are doing. Or your blog RSS or newletter.  They get to know you more and some of them with buy a product from you.  Twitter is just a create front end and I choose to invest some everyday on it because of the phenomenal growth in social media.  I also enjoy social media. To me it’s a cocktail party where I get to meet a lot of interesting people. Some will get to know me better and some of them will buy my products, but my attitude is to have fun and give out interesting information.  I summed up my social media philosophy at TwitterForSmallBusiness.com in a free report.

The presentation by Jonas Lamis on how he uses Google Adwords to test a business idea was received well. I’m been doing this technique for years and you do really learn quick whether your idea has a market very fast, like a day. Jonas make a great point that this is good for discovery but it’s enough for deep analysis. And nothing happens until you start selling something. That is the real proof.

At another session I learned why link building is still a lot of work.  Check out hubspot.com and buzzstream.com.  I just ran the website grader from hubspot.com on this website and got a great score of 97.9 out of 100. I’m very happy with that.

I have a great aunt with a lot of money.  She has many many accounts in many banks with no more than $100,000 USD in each because that is the limit the FDIC Insurance will pay.  Not many know this, but yes there is limit.  So if you have a lot of money use different accounts and banks.

Also be careful what banks you use.  Many are going out of business.  Big rumors of another big one going under soon.  Don’t ask me who.  And many many regional banks are going out of business.

This story about Virgin Atlantic is sobering.  Richard Branson’s main bank came to the rescue.  Looks like big big banks are going to be the survivors.

“Virgin Atlantic may have disappeared if HBOS had gone, it could have been that serious,” Sir Richard said, adding it would have been “no fault of our own”.

In an interview with Fox News he said: “HBOS looked like it was going to go bankrupt in Europe so Virgin Atlantic rings up HBOS, we have a billion pounds on deposit – not really our money, it’s people who’ve bought tickets, people who’ve bought holidays – and we said, ‘We want it out. We want to move it to another bank.’

“They said, ‘Well, we actually, er,… Look at the small print, you can’t have it out right now.’.”

He went on: “And now, fortunately, Lloyds (TSB) bank made a bid for them and we got our money out.”

Sir Richard made the comments as he explained why he thought governments, both in the US and the UK, should guarantee “all of their depositors’ money in banks”.

I’ve had stuff and I’ve had practical no stuff.  I’ve learned for myself that having less stuff is more fun.  The less I’m into physical items the more I enjoy the items.

Let me explain.  Everything you own is temporary.  Your going to lose it all when you die and along the way some items are going to wear out.  Some you replace and some you don’t.  They serve a function.  They give you pleasure.  They are helpful in getting through life.

But they are temporary.  Experiences are permanent.  Enjoying things physical and other wise is important, not the thing.

I’ve enjoyed many things in life and didn’t own many of them.  It’s not necessary to own something in order to enjoy it.  Some things I can enjoy for a limited time but then don’t want it anymore, so why would I buy it?  Just find out a way to get access to it.

I was in France and Italy for six weeks this summer and last year the UK, Scotland and France.  I didn’t buy much at all.  This summer I bought a handful of gifts for family.  After traveling to many places and often you just lose interest in buying the same bag with the local city name on it.  I enjoy taking photographs and getting some printed and looking at them and remembering my trip.  The experience is what I enjoy.  I had a blast in Venice Italy this summer when I took a shower in the world’s smallest shower.  I called it Venice Shower Yoga.  Not the most comfortable shower but it gave me an experience that I enjoyed and will never forget and it makes me feel grateful for my shower at home, it’s so huge.

If you are in a situation that you don’t like look for the humor in it.  Put your happiness above all else.  Don’t put up with a bad job that you hate.  Why have an experience that is bad and keep doing it?

When you laugh at your current sucky situation you are on your way to change.  You can change because you have raised your vibrational level.  If you stay stressed and despressed you can’t change.  Your can control how you react to situations even if you can’t control everything around you.

The point of life is not to amass fortunes.  You’re going to lose it when you die anyways.  The point is to have fun.  Now making a lot of money for me is a lot of fun.  But losing money, even all of it is that the end of the world.  In fact losing money will make you a better player at the money game next time around.  Play full out.  Go for what you want.  Enjoy the experience.  Enjoy life.  Bancruptsy is not the end of the world.  Many successful people have gone bankrupt and started anew and became successful again and much faster because of their experience.  Use those bad situations as growing experiences.  Grow from it and move forward.

Play the money game, play at life with a sense of adventure.  Don’t take it so seriously.  Enjoy the experiences, grow from them and have fun.

Esther and Jerry Hicks really helped me a few years ago.  I went to one of their small workshops that they had on their ranch and it made a signifant change in my and my life turned around.  I saw the first three people get in the hot seat in from of Abraham and tell them that the teachings of Abraham brought them success and happiness and thank you.  I thought the entire workshop was going to be people looking for guidance and how screwed up their lives were.  Some did but overall it was very positive. After that workshop my life changed all for the better.  Now they are coming out with a book on Money and Law of Attraction.  Can’t wait to read this one.

My partner Nan blogged about me yesterday. We were doing an EFT session on me regarding money and while we were doing it an email came in about a potential business deal that I would love. Wow it worked really really fast.

I have used EFT with clients and have had so many requests for help with Money issues that I am creating a Money EFT product that will include a video on how to use it, a manual with photos of all the positions and scripts for releasing issues most people have around money. I am developing this product with my beloved and partner, the prosperity guy, Chris Sherrod (who, BTW, makes the most amazing websites and helps you market them). We are always working on ourselves, moving forward on our spiritual and personal paths, empowering ourselves, clearing old patterns that we realize keep us from our full potential. We are always expanding our minds, opening our hearts and raising our vibrations. To me, that is my primary purpose, everyones really, moving forward within yourself has more power to change the world than any politics, protests or wars!

My role model Richard Branson launched Virgin Money USA.  Very exciting.  Great news.

I recently updated my multiple streams of income chart and it really changed my life.  I’m seeing more potential, faster, and easier.

So I want to explain how you can create your own “Raining Money Chart”.

I use a mind mapping program to do mine but you can use a piece a paper or http://www.mindomo.com/.

I put each market segment my companies are in around a central box of “Business”.  Off of each market segment I write boxes with the name of the product or service that we offer.  I also write down ideas that I haven’t implemented yet and make them a different color.

Once my chart is complete I put it in my journal and on my office wall.

Looking at it inspires me and give me more ideas of how to expand in a certain market.
